Homework: Write your 2-3 minute speech. Include the strategies discussed. Create an accompanying visual that effectively uses words and visuals to support your ideas.  Practice! Practice! Practice! If you read your speech from a paper you will be marked off. You do not know if you will be asked to present Wednesday or Thursday so be prepared.

You must submit a typed hard copy on Tuesday. (If you do not have a printer, put it on your flash drive and then print it at the headquarters office).

 Homework: Create a Works Cited page for all of your research, create the in-text citations for each source used.

Homework for the Weekend: Write a complete outline for your cause and effect essay. Do any other research needed. Write your first draft of your body paragraphs. (Don’t worry about Intro and conclusion yet). Bring everything to class on Monday.

Weekend Homework


Homework: Write an expository compare and contrast essay. First, research your topic and bring to class notes on that research as well as information on the sources where that information was taken from. Remember, this is not just URLs. Complete some type of pre-writing (Venn Diagram, outline) and then write a 5-6 paragraph essay comparing the two things you chose.

In at least one other class, use what you learned today to take effective notes.
Remember: Organization, key ideas, examples, and visuals.
Then use one of the study strategies learned.
Write a one paragraph reflection on what you did to take effective notes, how you used the study strategy, and how well you think these both helped you to understand the material. 
 
Extra Credit:
 Show me at least two pages of organized notes from each of your other classes.

Take your “round robin writing”, edit, and revise it. Do not change any major ideas, but organize it into paragraphs if needed, edit for grammar mistakes, etc. Bring a final draft to class. Whether you are writing or typing it, you may present it in a creative way (pictures, colors, etc.)
